RECOMMENDED BOAT MAINTENANCE
Step 1: Consistent Washes
Regular washing is the foundation of boat maintenance. Salt, dirt, and environmental fallout break down gelcoat and painted surfaces when left to sit—especially under UV exposure. A consistent wash schedule removes these contaminants before they cause damage, keeping surfaces clean, hydrated, and protected year-round.
Step 2: Surface Protection
- Polymer Sealant (Wax) provides a strong UV-resistant barrier that helps prevent fading and oxidation. When applied on a routine schedule, marine polymer sealants significantly extend the life of your gelcoat and keeps your boat looking glossy and well cared for. We expect polymer sealants on your vessel to last around 6 months.
- Ceramic Coatings offer longer-lasting, higher-performance protection. Ceramic bonds to the surface, delivering superior UV resistance, chemical protection, and hydrophobic properties. Boats with ceramic coatings stay cleaner longer, are easier to maintain, and maintain a deep shine for extended periods. We expect ceramic coatings to last between 18-24 months.
Step 3: Long Term Prevention over Correction
Oxidation occurs when surfaces are left unprotected and exposed to sun and salt over time. Once oxidation develops, it can only be corrected through compounding and polishing—processes that are more expensive and abrasive than preventative care. Our approach prioritizes regular maintenance and protection to minimize the need for corrective services.
